TruCut
Between 2023 and 2024, Engineering Direct delivered two key upgrades to TruCut’s Salem facility. The initial phase, completed in 2023, addressed the need for a more functional and contemporary office environment. The outdated and undersized original offices were replaced with a two-story expansion at the building’s southeast corner, more than doubling the workspace and improving operational flow.

Premier Custom Paint and Collision is one of Western PA’s elite performance center’s for auto customization. With the volume of services they offer, they have exceeded their capabilities within their current facility.

Trailstar International Warehouse Addition
Trailstar, part of the Mac Trailer Enterprises family of businesses, expanded their existing facility located in Alliance, OH. Construction of the new expansion began in August, 2023, and includes 66,000 SF of additional manufacturing space, with a longitudinal and transverse overhead crane and new loading dock.

Yorkville Intermodal
Exterior engineering of this new 100,000-square-foot speculative building in Yorkville, OH, incorporates a high-performance insulated metal panel and reinforced precast concrete facade, complete with engineered expansion joints and continuous moisture-barrier systems to ensure resilience against thermal and weather loads. A 40-foot-wide steel-framed entrance canopy, integrated LED architectural lighting, and landscaped storm-water bioswales elevate curb appeal and sustainability, while provisions for future rooftop photovoltaic arrays position the facility as an energy-efficient industrial landmark along the Ohio River.

Zarbana Aluminum Extrusion
Exterior engineering of Zarbana Aluminum Extrusion’s 69,300 SF casting facility. A single-sloped roof rising over 54 feet is clad in a weatherproof membrane with integrated scupper and gutter drainage, while glazed curtain walls and steel canopies enhance natural light, access, and curb appeal. Embedded crane-support columns and precision precast headers accommodate the 82-foot, 20-ton overhead crane and allow for future dock-door installations.

Exterior engineering for Columbiana Ford’s SR 164 dealership remodel centers on a reformed 5,000 SF façade clad in precision-engineered ACM panels and high-performance storefront glazing. Structural steel framing with thermal-break assemblies supports expansive windows and integrated rainscreen systems, while a continuous air- and moisture-barrier and upgraded insulation ensure year-round efficiency. Custom steel canopies define the new service drive-through, and seamless transitions between old and new construction maximize curb appeal and brand presence.

Exterior engineering for Hickey Metal’s Building #7 25,000 SF expansion incorporates a steel-frame and insulated metal-panel envelope designed to support two aisles of 5-ton overhead and jib cranes. Engineered foundations and embedded crane-support columns accommodate the fast-tracked installation of a Trumpf Sort and Stack laser, ensuring precise load distribution. Thermal-break assemblies, continuous air- and moisture-barrier systems, and expansion joints deliver long-term durability.

Andritz Herr-Voss Stamco’s Ambridge, PA facility includes a 30,000 SF 50-ton crane building and a 5,580 SF 35-ton crane addition, both enveloped in insulated metal panels and precision steel framing. Engineered foundations with embedded crane-support columns enable heavy overhead loads, while thermal-break wall assemblies, continuous air-and-moisture barriers, and expansion joints ensure long-term durability. Completed in 2023, strategic facade transitions seamlessly unite the expanded structure.

Exterior engineering for Envelope 1 and Digital Direct’s new 100,000 SF facility delivers climate- and humidity-controlled performance via split-face CMU exterior walls over poured concrete foundations, continuous air- and moisture-barrier systems. High-bay windows optimize natural daylighting, while a structural steel entrance tower, full-height masonry columns, horizontal shadow panels, and exterior window bands enhance durability.

Big Sewickley Creek Brewery
Architectural design for this 3,500 SF brewery and tasting room leverages a sawtooth clerestory frame, vaulted ceilings, and north–south overhead doors opening to a covered creekside porch. Synthetic rusted galvanized S-panel cladding, cool-toned exterior finishes, and a timber-frame entrance canopy blend modern-rustic aesthetics with the woodland setting, creating an inviting open-air gathering space.

Superior Extrusions’ 140,000 SF fabrication plant expansion supports two press buildings, an electric building, and a shipping building under a 10-ton and two 2-ton cranes. A high-side 0.5:12 roof slope omits gutters to mitigate heavy snow loads, complemented by a 4-ft masonry snow wall. Integrated hot-water floor-melt and building-heating systems.

Engineering for RL Craig’s new 24,000 SF facility expansion encompassed comprehensive site, civil, and structural design for over 21,500 SF of manufacturing space, five offices, restrooms, and a break room.

Interior engineering for Engineering Direct’s new 7,500 SF sanctuary addition encompasses comprehensive architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems design. A revised floorplan and ADA-compliant layout integrate room and door finish schedules, and new utility services, LED interior/exterior lighting, audio/visual, and general-purpose circuits. Fire alarms, emergency egress lighting and HVAC specifications ensure a functional, code-approved worship space.

Design-build delivery of the 13,000 SF City of Greensburg Public Works facility included 11,500 SF of garage bays and 1,500 SF of offices, locker rooms, restrooms, and a conference room. Engineering Direct coordinated with a third-party engineer on structural engineering and value-engineering to optimize performance and cost.
