Superior Extrusions, Inc. is a national leader in extruded aluminum products located in the heart of the Upper Midwest. As a result of increased product demand, Superior Extrusions, Inc. added a 140,000 SF fabrication plant that includes two press buildings, an electric building, a shipping building, a 10-ton crane, and two 2-ton cranes. This is the largest expansion Superior Extrusions has completed in the 23 years they have been in business. The metal building provides the strength and durability needed to support the cranes and heavy industrial equipment. The roof slope is 0.5000/12" and the building was designed with a high side for future expansion. The building was also designed and built without gutters to prevent roof damage due to its location in a high snow area. There is a 4' masonry wall around the perimeter to prevent snow sliding damage. In effort to maximize efficiency and support sustainability, the processing equipment is used to heat the building and melt snow. Exterior floor melt areas were designed to provide clear paths for forklift traffic. Both of these are accomplished using hot water from the processing equipment.
